I was just checking my stuffs and i found few sits which are free to send sms.Here you can try them all by youself,best part is that they are all free.
160by2.com-This site allows users to send Free SMS of upto 80 characters.As the name suggests it uses 80 characters to place some add in your Sms.But its free..
way2sms.com-This site i think is a good one.It allows users to send Sms of upto 140 characters with no adds.Just Sign up and enjoy.
youmint-this site also works on 160by2 principle.You can send upto 80 characters sms.
yahoo messenger-Yahoo messenger allows users to send free Sms to the people in their Contact list.it is also a good service.
SMS7-Sms7 aloows users to send Sms upto 440 characters.this service is probably the best one.
Rediff Bol-Rediff bol messenger also allows users to send free sms.
Google Sms Channel-This service i think is not upto mark but is good if you want to send sms to the members of you channel.just give it a try.
